Rigorous controls ensure total transparency

The Foundation's aim is clear. It seeks to optimise the use of all funds raised. This means that each franc received is directly allocated to a specific project, since all running costs are covered by the Founder.

  • Accounts audited by Ernst & Young
Naturally, each donor has the right to examine the books and records of the Foundation. The accounts, audited by Ernst & Young, and a certificate attesting that all running costs are covered by the Founder, are also accessible to all.
Children Action benefits from the usual tax exemptions pertaining to its charitable status, and from the provisions of article 21u of the Swiss legislation relating to public donations.
Contributions from US-based foundations are also tax deductible.
  • Children Action audited by the SGS
In May 2006, Children Action commissioned SGS (the world's leading testing and verification company
www.SGS.com) to audit its performance in areas such as strategic framework, ethics, integrity, management, financial transparency, efficiency and the Foundation's compentencies. Children Action obtained a score of 96,4%, one of the stronger results to date.

Leveraging to add value

Children Action adds value to each project by leveraging various levels of investments:

Maximise donations: 1 Franc + leverage = 3 Francs to help children
Thanks to the Founder, who covers all administrative costs; to grants in kind; to joint ventures and to pro bono professional organisations; each donated Franc is multiplied by 3.

Multiply the numbers of people who offer their time, talent and expertise.
Since 1994 the number of doctors, surgeons, psychiatrists and peolple involved has increased 10 fold. The number of artists offering us their talents has increased 15 fold.

Optimise knowledge transfer
Through training programs taught by recognised experts, Children Action enables the transfer of knowledge. Training futue trainers people  is one of the aims of the Foundation. To this day more than 200 people have been trained.

Measure impact

The goal of Children Action is to bring real change in children's lives. To enable a realistic assessment of its outcomes, Children Action has instituted for each of its projects impartial and verifiable indicators to measure the impact of each project.
