Schools for destitute children
Underprivileged children in Vietnam generally have little opportunity to build their future. Schooling has a crucial role to play in reversing this situation. Unfortunately, some areas do not have schools and few families can afford to let their children go to school.
Everyone has the right to an education
Since 1996, in order to give the most destitute children the opportunity to get an education, Children Action has paid for the schooling of 100 pupils. Since 2001, the foundation also finances the construction of schools in the most remote areas of Vietnam. To date, 10 schools have been built enabling 637 children living in those areas to acquire a basic education (writing, grammar and arithmetic). Alongside the construction of schools, every year Children Action finances daily canteen meals for nearly 600 children from very underprivileged families. .
